Professor Joann Fletcher is an Egyptologist at York University. She links Egypt to Scarborough and to the collections in the Scarborough Museum.

 Professor Joann Fletcher is Honorary Research Fellow at the University of York she teaches ancient Egyptian funerary archaeology as part of the archaeology degree course and designed the first nationally available GCSE-equivalent (Level 2) qualification in Egyptology on behalf of the educational body Centra.

Yorkshire Post have asked to be there Joann says :_  - "Well happy to chat if they want to - but I don't want them to do any photos at the event"

At our convivial weekly meetings we welcome speakers - we learn of many varied interests. ‘Special events’ such as Burns night, Christmas celebrations and visits to places of interest (and refreshment) add to the opportunities for fellowship and fun.
