Local Rotary club organises the town`s Community Fair
This will be the 15th year that the Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers has organised the town`s Community Fair, enabling local charity and community groups to raise their profile with the public and generate much needed cash for their respective organisations.
The event, which will take place this year on Saturday, August 12 from 10.00am, promises to be the best ever.
Rotary President Chris Case said : “Over 30 organisations have already booked space in Westborough but we have room for more if groups still want to join the party.”
“It`s always a real treat on the day to see what each organisation does to attract visitors to their stalls, from terrific tombolas to creative crafts, with the odd surprise item to tempt customers to spend their money,” he added.
The Mayor and Mayoress Councillor Martin and Cherry Smith will be paying a visit to the fair and will select the “best dressed” stall on the day.
Some of the charities booked so far include Scarborough Multiple Sclerosis Society; First Light Trust; Scarborough MENCAP; Guide Dogs for the Blind; and Scarborough RNLI.
Organisations only have to pay £20 for their stall, with the Rotary Club arranging the tables along the length of Westborough.
