2nd April 2024
A few of us were at Lockinge Point to Point near Wantage yesterday. We all had great fun and we all appreciated how lucky we were to have good weather for the day.
Invited by members of Faringdon & District Rotary to join the car park team, along with members of Wallingford & Didcot District Rotary, this was our club's first opportunity for some fundraising.
It was also a first for Bandana, Ievgeniia, Daryna and Marsha, having never done any car park marshalling before.
And another first for the same four, an English horse event, having only lived in the UK for four years or less.
So what did they think of it? Would they ever do it again? Would they do it in bad weather? Watch the videos to find out!
After we'd finished our parking duties, five of us had a walk around the event. To the one Brit in the group, an ice cream was an obvious choice. The four who didn't grow up in the UK thought it was madness though.
"It's Easter Monday, we're at a fun family event, we've had some sun, so of course we should eat ice cream!"
"No Karen, that's not normal!"
