What did you miss?

We discussed how we might support people in Sudan, based on a message from a friend of Emilia's. We agreed to try some small fundraising with "What can I give up for a week?" - anything we save during the week we could give to the chosen charity. The initial suggestions were wine and chocolate!

ACTION: Karen & Emilia to work on a poster design and bring to next meeting.

We spoke about how club members can bring their skills to Rotary. Jelka is interested in helping with evaluation of grants - measuring impact and successes.

ACTION: Karen, Jelka and John to discuss how this could support small grant-funded projects in our district, and bring to next meeting.

We have a draft flier to promote the next six club meetings. Shalmalee has contributed to this. We need a few more contributions though. We agreed to create an image for each meeting to use on Facebook.

ACTION: Ayomide & Karen to work on design. All to send contributions.

We have the website but also need a Facebook site.

ACTION: Bandana to set up Facebook.

We discussed how we might set up a twinning or similar with some youth groups.

ACTION: Bandana and Karen to plan this.

Bandana and Jelka both told us about their current activities: Bandana setting up a charity to support schools in Nepal and Jelka working on a research project looking at children's development.

We have the text for our polio video and Bandana has recorded her bit.

ACTION: Bandana to send reminders to others to record their parts.
