CLUB ASSEMBLY
Past District Governor Hazel Haas and Jane Pettitt welcomed.
President David thanked members for all that had been achieved and outlined events that had taken place. He mentioned that £2,100 had been raised for Ohana and £2,500 for Jacob's Well and the outstanding success of the Bike Ride.
Club President Elect Keith [pictured with Jane] outlined his aspirations. He hoped membership would increase by three and he would be supporting the setting up of a satellite club. Further connections with the local community would be encouraged and emphasis would be placed on supporting the work of Club committees.
Keith's charities would be Jennyruth Workshops and TASC Madagascar.
Committee chairs outlined plans. Fellowship included a BBQ, Garden Party, Burns Night, a nautical event and the Last Night of the Proms among the programme while Youth Service will continue with events from this year and plan for a Poetry competition for Year 10 and 11 students from local schools as well as Service Above Self awards. Local projects will concern the Environment committee including cleaning rubbish from rivers. Community plans include forming new links with Ripon organisations and International will be supporting six charities among other initiatives. Work will continue on the setting up of a satellite club - Genesis
Hazel praised the fact that Ripon always 'punched above its weight' and commented on individual committee plans.
