Guests at yesterday's club meeting included a group from Northallerton Rotary Club : President Andy Brereton, Secretary Les Crelling, Phil Roser and Tony Triggs. Ray Head from Rowels and Em Lloyd-Davies from Knaresborough also attended together with honorary members Dean John Dobson and Roy Freeman.
Dean John was presented with his honorary member badge.

Mike Abbott was welcomed and a health update was given about John Stockdale. John is in Granby ward at Harrogate Hospital. Members should check with hospital staff before visiting.

John Mellor of the national network City of Sanctuary spoke about the importance of granting asylum to people fleeing persecution. The case for moving away from a largely negative approach to one which concentrates on continuing ancient traditions of welcoming refugees was outlined.

Members are invited to attend the IW Overseas meeting at Bishop Monkton this afternoon.

Contact Robert for details of the Christian Aid Harrogate Band concert on October 25th at Holy Trinity Church. This will offer particular support for a Health Project in Kenya.
