Assistant District Governor Hazel Haas attended the club assembly last night when President Elect Geoffrey Blackman and committee chairmen outlined plans for the new Rotary year.  President Elect Geoffrey stressed that he wished to encourage a proactive, rather than reactive approach within the club.

Committee chairmen will be building on past programmes as well as introducing new ideas.  Needs within the local community will be identified and opportunities to support the Personnel Recovery Unit at Catterick taken.  Hope and Homes for children,Aqua boxes, Cure International, Mary's Meals, Sand Dams will be helped while Service Above Self in local secondary schools, Rotary Young Photographer and Ripon Young Musicians of the Year awards are included in plans.

Fellowship will offer a full social programme and among proposed environment projects are; replanting the crocus bed forming the Ripon Horn and maintenance of the garden at Alma Weir and the steps at High Cleugh.

The successful charity Golf Day had over 40 team entries; Historic Preservation and Restoration won the team prize.

The Joint Presidents' service is to be held at the Walled Garden at 11 a.m. on July 1st.
