John Groves was formally welcomed into the club at the meeting yesterday. John will be joining the Community and Vocational committee.
Points made at the business meeting included the importance of attracting sponsorship for the Golf Day on June 18th next year.
Letters are to be issued at the end of November inviting local organisations to nominate candidates for youth volunteering awards, which will be presented at North Stainley village hall on March 2nd next year. Initial letters will be followed up in January; names of youth organisations who might be interested would be welcomed by David M.
The club expressed an interest in supporting the Young Musicians' competition; crocus bulbs have been planted on Rotary Way and the grass will be cut once more this year; the millstone will be cleaned and painted next year.
Rowels president has asked the club to join Rowels in helping the city council change 2 noticeboards on the market square on a 2-weekly basis and Barry S. has offered to liaise on this.
President Derek has suggested a Ceilidh for the joint dance in March and a tick list will be issued to discover club interest; Ripon G.S. and Academy have been asked if they would be interested in mock interviews for pupils by Rotarians; Bill Robinson thanked all members who had supported the Ambassadorial student weekend.
