Former Ripon Mayor John Groves outlined his experiences in 45 years of accountancy at the club meeting yesterday. John worked in London and Wakefield before moving to this area in 1983 where his employers included Croft and Blackburn, F.M. Metcalfe and Co., Robert Staveley and Massingberds.
Paul Venner was formally welcomed into the club yesterday.
The Ambassadorial Student Weekend was very successful. Students Kanako Kumamoto from Saga City, Japan, Yuka Sakata also from Japan, Whitney Hough from Colorado Springs, USA, Sejin Kim from South Korea, Mimi Ensley from Georgia, USA and Lucia Tomassini from Italy gave excellent presentations last Saturday evening.
The Silent Auction for one or two weeks in Nerja is now open. The closing date is 29th November. 80% the successful bid price will go to International causes for a one week booking and 100% of the bid price goes to International causes for a two week booking.
A form has been circulated to order meals at the George at Wath on 29th November. Forms should be completed by 15th November if possible and handed to John Whelan or John Middleton. The cost is
