Last night's 84th anniversary Charter Dinner was attended by about 84 guests and members and nine Rotary clubs were represented. Mayor of Ripon Mick Stanley emphasised the importance of Rotary to the community and DG Willie Clark gave a typically humorous slant on Rotary and Rotarians. Guest speaker, the Rev. Darryl Hall, described how he had made a career change from carpet retail manager to Priest and then proceeded to demonstrate how he was also a talented ventriloquist.
All proceeds from ticket sales for the Christian Forshaw concert will be donated to President Derek's three charities thanks to the generosity of sponsors who covered all concert costs.
Ten members together with partners will be attending the District Conference from tomorrow.
