A group of UK farmers sent cows to struggling farmers in Uganda 23 years ago and now the charity, Send A Cow is transforming thousands of communities across Africa. Maxine Stirk described yesterday how the organisation provides training, livestock, seeds and support to ensure communities make the most of the land and resources they already have.
Help with parking at the Open Garden event is still needed. Preparation will begin at 11 a.m. next Sunday.

Hazel Haas, assistant district governor, will be attending the Open Evening.
The final literacy award presentation is made this Friday at Greystone School to Carly Ford. In previous weeks Zac Garrington [Holy Trinity] Martyna Holica [St Wilfrids] and Joel Francis[Moorside] received a small engraved shield and a gift token.
