The Daffodil Delights tour for Ripon residents last Sunday gave an opportunity to appreciate the colourful results of hard work and imagination by Ripon and area schoolchildren, loc al organisations and members. Early areas for planting included the River Skell banks, Bishopton and the Harrogate Road daffodil bends. These were added to in 1998-9 when a determined effort was made to extend the scheme with over 100,000 bulbs planted on the by-pass verges and Rotary Way. The aim was to have a daffodil welcome on each of the main roads into Ripon as well as other areas and in 2002 55,000 bulbs were planted on the A61 verges in a 2 year period. In 2009 the Daffodil Bends on Harrogate Road were the scene of further planting.
The Business meeting is to be held next Tuesday and an extra meeting is to be held on April 26th.
