Ranger guide Ruth Walpole described how she is to spend a gap year helping disadvantaged children in India at the club meeting this week.
Her further aims include learning the local language and finding out more about the people and their customs.
Assistant Distrcit Governor Phil Oliver attended the meeting.
The silent auction for a stay in an apartment in Nerja in aid of PolioPlus closes on November 23rd.
Deposits are being taken for rooms at the Red Lea Hotel during District Conference weekend October 14-16 2011. Deadline for receipt of deposits is November 2nd.
