Improvements to the lack of safe, palatable drinking water supplies could be made if each Rotary club is involved in a water-related project. This is the belief of Ian Carling, District International committee chairman, in his talk this week.
He stressed that schemes such as rainwater harvesting and shallow wells would bring great benefits to over one billion people who have limited access to safe water.
Supplies of shelterboxes are available from Thirsk Rotary club.
