Clare Crawford described how intensive swimming training culminated in the award of two gold medals at the Special Olympics held in Leicester in 2009 at the Club meeting this week. Travel to places such as Taiwan to represent GB is accomplished without sponsorship help.
Another young person seeking a challenge is Gavin Logie who starts his RYLA course on August 1st.
'Abounding cheerfulness dispels rain' is a slogan which was put into action at the croquet/boules/drawing evening this week. Thanks to John M for organisation and Samantha and Fergus Thompson for tuition.
Robin Rich of York Rotary Club who lives in Ripon visited the Club this week with a proposal for a joint York/Ripon meeting.
