The Club was saddened to learn of the death of Bill Taylor. Bill joined Rotary in 1988 and was president in 2001-2. He made a significant contribution to both the Ripon and Kirkby Malzeard community where he had been managing director of Fountains Dairy.
A club sponsored RYLA course in 2001 sparked Tom Tindale's interest enough to result in an eventual career as an outward bound course instructor. He gave details of this at the club meeting this week and described how he is to take part in the Mongol Rally. Once in Mongolia the aim is to work to improve conditions for vulnerable children.
Micky Doig's team won first prize in the Golf Tournament.
Shadow committees meet next Tuesday.
