Spotlight on Serving Our Community
Tub2Pub Campaign Success Supporting the efforts of Rotary Club of Barry, we've collected over 300 confectionery tubs so far for Greene King's initiative supporting Macmillan Cancer Support. Special thanks to our local partners including @TescoCardigan, @OxygenTherapyCentreCardigan, @MorrisonsDailyFfosyFfin, @Co-opNewcastle Emlyn, and @CostcutterAberaeron for serving as collection points. The Greene King Pub challenge: to beat last year’s record of 150,000 tubs raising £12600 for Charity. Every little helps!
Community Engagement We're excited to bring modern crafting techniques as well as expanding our impact through new craft initiatives at Min y Mor residential home and the Integrated Care Centre in Aberaeron. Our epoxy resin workshops will bring modern crafting techniques to seniors and provide mindfulness and enrichment activities for the District Nursing Team.
Winter Wanderings D1150 Area 1 Rotarians braved the winter weather for a delightful walk around the Elan Valley Dam, followed by lunch at the Crown in Rhayader. These gatherings strengthen our fellowship and make our community work even more effective. It was great to meet with DGE Ian Hughes and hear the latest news from the wider Rotary family.
End Polio Now Update Our planted crocus bulbs are beginning to emerge, bringing hope and colour to our community. These flowers serve as a powerful symbol of Rotary's ongoing commitment to eradicating polio worldwide.
Record-Breaking Achievement We're thrilled to announce that Michael Beynon, whom we supported during his Michael100k challenge in October, has qualified for the Guinness Book of Records. This remarkable 29-year-old's achievement stands as a testament to the power of community support and determination.
