Rotary Orpington Satellite provided assistance to Orpington 1st and Knoll Residents Association on Thursday 2nd June for their respective Jubilee celebrations. The first bank of celebration assistance was in Orpington High Street centred around the Market Square and involved cutting up a very large celebration cake to feed all the people who attended the arranged festivities. Later in the evening assistance was provided whilst the beacon was lit. The Knoll Residents Association assistance started at the United Reform Church and to offer a marshalling service to guide a large volume of people from the church through to Broomhill Common where another beacon was lit to link in with the nationwide beacons also lit on that night.
