YVR & First Steps Himalaya

YVR work with other Rotary Clubs to raise funds for First Steps Himalaya

Update on First Steps Himalaya and Global Giving

2020 has been difficult for all of us. As Christmas approaches, rural Nepal continues to face challenges linked to COVID – 19. The men returning to Nepal with no work and no money has led to an increase in child and women trafficking, domestic abuse, and girls not attending school.

In spite of the challenges Ythan Valley Rotary remains committed to supporting First Steps Himalaya in building self- resilience in Nepal—but we need your help. Through Giving Tuesday, a day where everyone, anywhere, can help to support us in raise an awareness, and hopefully well needed funds, for the villagers of the Nuwakot district of Nepal.

Therefore, for 24 hours only (0500 hrs to 0500 hrs GMT) from Tuesday 1st December to Wednesday 2nd Dec 2020, GlobalGiving is giving away one million dollars to non-profit organisations around the world. Your generous gift will help us unlock a greater share of those funds!

If you have previously donated in the past to the work of this project, thank you.  However, if you did not meet our past deadline, and would still like to donate, then now is your chance to do so!  For more information, and to make your donation, please follow the link https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/community-resilience-nuwakot-district-nepal/

Together, we can make a big difference to the lives of the villagers in Nepal, especially as the winter months fast approach.  Mark the date on your calendars today!

Rotary clubs in Scotland have been involved with First Steps Himalaya since 2010 and have been impressed with the ongoing improvements to the lives of the children in Nepal.  Ythan Valley Rotary is keen to maintain this involvement with First Steps Himalaya …. Changing lives…one classroom at a time
