Family History and Surnames

George English is the Director of Family History service, Research Through People; and recent President of Kilmarnock Rotary Club. He has many years of experience of genealogical and historical research, and has published articles in UK, USA and other parts of the world. 

His talk covers what is involved in researching family history and bringing your ancestors to life through the social and historical background of the times they lived in. It will include information about the origins of surnames, and those of Club members; and be tailored to the audience with local and wider examples.
