When we help individuals in our local community it must often be kept confidential, but happily this example is now in the public domain.
Together with the local Lions, we were approached by the mother of a young footballer who lives in our area and is showing both talent and the kind of commitment and resilience needed to succeed in the sport. He had the opportunity to take part in an event in the Netherlands, but circumstances were preventing him from meeting the costs of the equipment, training and travel. The M&NRC and the Lions made contributions to allow him to prepare and to attend and the team in which he played won the tournament!
