Paulina, a member of Rotary Club Malton & Norton. and this is a translated extract from an email received from her father in Bartoszyce , Lidzbark-Warminski
"Approximately 200 Ukranian refugees have arrived in Bartoszyce, Lidzbark-Warminski and two families with children have been found accommodation by the club. The apartments are not fully furnished and are in need of necessities a fridge and table and chairs. The club has purchased these necessary items. (all invoices are of course kept by the Polish Club for accounting purposes and are available to us too if we want to see them).
Families are also in need of toiletries and clothing which will also be purchased using the funds.
The Rotary Club is also organising a concert together with the local Music/Arts School in Lidzbark-Warminski which will be a fundraising event for the Ukrainian people - I have seen an online article in the local Polish Newspaper that approximately 200 Ukrainian refugees have now arrived in the district. At the beginning of the concert the Rotary President will make a speech in which he will mention our Club and our support to the Ukrainian people in the region - it will be in English and they will make a video of it so this is certainly something we can put on our social media. My parents have also welcomed 4 children into their school"
