Last evening we were back at Wike Ridge for our weekly meeting.
Despite the cold weather, 13 of us sat down to a banquet of sorts..
Our very own Bill Jones, our Man in the Stars, proceeded to entertain us with a beautifully illustrated talk on the Universe and our very own tiny place within it.
Bill is a member of the Leeds Astronomical Society and can wield the telescope as well as his fishing rod. Jack Clark duly provided the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the Club.
Our Charter Dinner is now just 6 weeks away and will be hosted, for various reasons, at Wike Ridge on March 12. My Guest Speaker will be Elizabeth Wright, the paralympian swimmer who some of you will remember visited us last year and spoke to the Club on one of our regular meetings. This should be a lovely evening and will be attended by our District and Assistant District Governors. I hope there will be a full Club turnout!
Duly sated with celestial knowledge, members retired homewards for supper as needed!
