Before our speaker took the floor Eddie reminded members of the need to join the 100Club given that the first draw is under 3 weeks at the Charter Dinner.Bill Baker reported that Ken and him and their wives had been at the Charter Dinner of the Wetherby Club and the President welcomed Brendan back to the Club. Our speaker was Matt Thornfield who is a toastmaster and he gave a most interesting and at times amusing talk on his life and experiences in toast mastering .For example at a wedding how does a toastmaster persuade the guests to sit down and welcome the bride and groom -it`s apparently different at an English ,Jewish or Asian wedding .When you are next at a meeting I`ll explain how he described what needs to be done . Bill Baker gave the vote of thanks and as he had worked with Matt when they were both at Yorkshire Bank it was most fitting that Bill should give the vote of thanks Those of you who have not booked your places for the Charter Dinner please do so and those of you who are on Council there is a meeting next Thursday at 6.30pm
