For those of you who were not able to attend the meeting last Thursday I wish you and your families a happy and peaceful New Year. We paid respects to the memory of Owen Jackson, a Past President of the Club, who has sadly passed away and a minute's silence was held. Our member John Hopkinson gave his job talk and how interesting that was! He spoke fluently and vividly about his career as a gents outfitter in Lincoln and now in Wetherby. It is often said that the best speakers are our own and last Thursday was no exception. It was also pleasing that Jim Tomlinson gave the vote of thanks. I mentioned on the success of the Christmas party and also on the visit to Martin House to hand over toiletries and a hamper of sweets which were very well received. For those of you who are on Council there is a meeting next Thursday at 6.30pm. Best wishes, Martyn.
