Early women's rights and fighting for the vote, Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy led the way. Born in Manchester in 1833, she went to school at Fulneck. 50% of the population had no legal rights, belonging to their fathers and husbands when she was born. British women were powerless and domestic violence was legal! The talk will tell how Elizabeth's efforts changed women's lives.
