The Rotary Foundation is the Charitable Trust of the Rotary movement.
Its mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
In 1985 the Foundation set up the PolioPlus project to eliminate polio from the face of the earth; today polio is endemic in only four countries of the world, and the Foundation is spearheading the final thrust to eradicate this crippling disease.
Locally, this committee helps to ensure the continued provision of funds for the Foundation, and seeks out and supports projects which fulfill its aims. It also helps with the selection or support of students on a number of Foundation educational programmes, such as Group Study Exchange, Ambassadorial Scholarships and World Peace Fellowships.
In addition, help is available to all committees to obtain district simplified and other grants.
