Caroline, Ambassador Group Coordinator.
Dyscover has been providing support and opportunities to people with aphasia and their families across Surrey and neighbouring counties for more than 30 years.
Aphasia is a devastating long-term language disorder commonly acquired through stroke or brain injury, making it difficult to understand and use language, both written and spoken.
Dyscover offer a unique programme of group support in Leatherhead, Kingston and now online as well as courses, family support and activities.
This worthy, established charity encourages members to take up new opportunities and challenges to boost their confidence and aid their progress towards a more participative and purposeful life.
Dyscover's Ambassadors have lived experience of aphasia and so are uniquely placed to pass on their knowledge.
The ambassadors hope that by raising awareness at our club and similar groups, they will raise awareness of aphasia, thereby making life easier for those with the disability.
This very worthy charity receives no government or local authority funding and relies on fundraising to help them provide long-term support for as many members as possible.
