Aquabox supporting the Mynamar Earthquake. Club donation of £500

Carshalton Park work with partner charities across the world on international and humanitarian work.

Ongoing Humanitarian support by Carshalton Park RC for Rotary Partner Charities.
Whenever a disaster strikes, whether it is natural or man-made, there is always an urgent need to provide safe drinking water to those affected. Water supplies are often severely affected in the aftermath of a disaster where water pipes may be destroyed or the water supply will be contaminated with water from sewage and drains.
Since Aquabox's formation in 1992 by John Griffiths OBE, member of Wirksworth RC, the charity has sent more than 125,000 aid boxes to more than 50 countries around the world, helping hundreds of thousands of people in times of crisis.
Aquabox responds by sending its water filters and humanitarian aid by volunteers. Each family filter can deliver up to half a million litres of clean drinking water, and a community filter over 1 million litres over its working life.
Each Aqua-aid Survival Box is tailored to support a family group, containing water purification filters as well as items of humanitarian aid to help with shelter and shelter building, lighting, cooking and feeding, educational development and hygiene. Information and photos with permission of Aquabox.
