Currently this is one of our largest community projects: funding for the state-of-the-art robotic surgical equipment for The Royal Surrey's newly built Cancer Centre. Due to open in mid-summer 2026!
-The current target is £100,000 for the purchase of the operating table. This synchronises its movements alongside the surgical robot, thereby enabling the surgeon to carry out procedures seamlessly and saving a significant amount of time per operation.
-Area South has so far raised: £60,000 with an RI International Grant expected in the near future.
-Carshalton Park Rotary Club have donated £500 in 2025 with hopefully will continue to support in 2026.
-Though the NHS has funded the new state of the art building, this does not stretch to the equipment cost. For example: each surgical robot costs £2.3 million.
-The Royal Surrey Cancer Centre treats patients from all around the UK.
-This world-renowned centre's first-class surgeons are referred significant numbers of patients from all around the UK as complex surgery is carried out within this institution.
-Do support our Area South CUT OUT CANCER CAMPAIGN if you can.
(RI: Rotary International. Clubs throughout the world can apply for grants to fund large projects)
