Our Trusted Partner ShelterBox has been on the ground helping communities across the world in all types of disasters such as tsunamis and volcanos or due to conflict.

ShelterBox has been in the region giving emergency aid since the outset of the Venezuela disaster where at least 2000 people are recorded dead, 5000 injured and tens of thousands are believed to be missing from the twin significant tremors on 24 June 2026.

Their immediate response is to carry out needs assessments to quickly learn how to best help communities such as providing emergency aid Shelter Kits, water filters and solar light.

Rotary has supported ShelterBox for more than 25 years as they work to provide humanitarian aid in areas of the world such as Afghanistan, Philippines, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine and Bangladesh.

Many clubs and individuals donate to buy a ShelterBox that comprises of everything needed to gain immediate shelter for a family (see below) thereby gaining speedy protection from the elements.

At present ShelterBox is working in approximately 100 countries where it is estimated that over 100 million people have been driven from their homes due to both natural and made made disasters.

The United Nations have estimated that over 8 million people are requiring humanitarian assistance in Venezuela.

Please support ShelterBox if you can who work alongside other trusted organisations such as UNISEF.

Do look at the fabulous boxes created by ShelterBox with items packed in the kit such as: Tarpaulin, sheets of heavy-duty tarp that can be used to create walls and roofs, Ropes to make shelters secure and stable, a Hoe, this tool can prepare the ground and later be used for farming, Tie wire to fix tarpaulins or bamboo structures with 500g of wire, Tin snips. The snips can be used to cut tie wire or tin roofing plates. A Handsaw to enable people to use timber or bamboo if it’s available, Roofing nails included. 500g worth of nails with washers can seal out the rain, a Shovel that can prepare foundations for a shelter or dig drainage ditches, Nails: 1kg of timber nails will also secure any repairs, a Claw hammer -another universal tool for nailing together a home, a curved needle: to stitch tarpaulins and tape measure for measuring distance for any projects or task.
