Wednesday, 26th July Alan and Ken volunteered to place the defibrillator in Redhill. After much investigation it was decided the best place for it would be half-way along Station Road between the pedestrial centre and McDonalds, where it would be covered by two CCTV cameras.
Unfortunately, after three weeks the defib was stolen and it was discovered that the CCTV camera which faced the unit was not working.
After a period of shock we spoke about this loss for several weeks before news of the story reached our local Surrey County Councillor, Jonathan Essex, and he suggested a replacement could be funded by his SCC Community Fund . This has now been done and (as requested by SCC) a plaque has been fixed near the defibrillator thanking SCC for their generosity.
