Friends of Rotary met at the Town Hall for a Christmas social get together with the Ilkley Community Network Group.
The Group meets monthly and engages the Ilkley voluntary and community sector, local businesses and Ilkley and Bradford Councils, working together towards shared goals for the benefit of all in an inclusive manner.
The Group has been working on the Prepared to Save a Life campaign, an ITbased online, first aid respondent training course, partnered with the Ilkley BID Team, Virtual College & Westbrook Agency. Around 500 have now completed the course which is ongoing.
Plans were to support the development of a Town Hall community hub, a Plans for the Day Conference with Ilkley Town Council and Climate Action Ilkley, work with the BID team on visitor experience, mapping of defibrillator machines in Ilkley & development of the website with the strapline ‘Ilkley’s Got Heart’ as well as continuing development of Rotary Friends initiative.
