The Youth Committee programme for 2019/2020 started in September with preparations for The Rotary Young Chef Competition.
January brought the start of preparations for the Rotary Club of Ilkley Handwriting Competition for Year 4 pupils.
The next event should have been the Rotary Technology Tournament which usually takes place in March. Unfortunately due to COVID this couldn’t be finalised in the school year.
The committee have also recommended to give financial support for a ‘Kids Out’ day
HANDWRITING COMPETITION
I researched the possibility of finalising this competition within this school year. However because of the different timetables for each of the ten schools, the logistics proved unworkable, it would cause too much confusion.
All schools have been contacted, informing them that the winner will be announced and the prizes handed over at a convenient time in September as they start the new school year.
It is interesting to note that the handwriting competition is still very much on their agenda and they are looking forward to it.
