We provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Rotary is involved in many projects worldwide, as well as local initiatives.  One of the main world wide projects is our work with Polio.

In 1985, Rotary launched its Polio Plus program to immunise all of the world's children against polio. Rotary has contributed more than £700 million to the cause. The result was the immunisation of 2 billion children worldwide.

Polio remains endemic in two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Africa is now declared Polio free!!

The Global Polio Eradication Initiative is a public private partnership led by national governments together with four core partners:

World Health Organisation (WHO)

Rotary International US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Unicef 

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Polio cases have decreased over 99.9% since immunisation started.
