Christmas Joy 4 Young Carers

Tameside Rotary are raising funds through Just Giving to ensure all Young Carers in Tameside get a present this Christmas.

To Donate to Tameside Young Carers

In Tameside over 500 children aged under 18 are Registered Carers. The work of this hidden group/(army) of young carers (some just eight years old) who provide essential care to sick or disabled family members, often goes unseen and unrecognised.

For many young carers, their lives have been made so much harder this year and their Christmas will be very different from the one they had hoped for. The pandemic has increased their caring responsibilities and the activities which provide much needed respite seeing friends, enjoying hobbies, trips out, meeting others, Christmas parties and meeting Santa - have been put on hold.

We want to bring some Christmas cheer to young carers by raising funds, and working with other local organisations, to ensure that each/every young carer in Tameside receives an age appropriate present, a Selection Box and a Christmas card designed by other children. Volunteers will ensure these gifts are delivered to Tameside young carers in time for Christmas.
