Sports Tours International officially announced details for this year’s Tour of Tameside at Hyde Town Hall in the presence of The Mayor and Mayoress of Tameside plus iconic local marathon runner Ron Hill. There were a number of organisations represented at the launch including Willow Wood Hospice, Active Tameside and Tameside Rotary Club.
Details of the event were presented by Chris Cird CEO of Sports Tours International (a member of our Rotary Club). There are 4 separate runs over four days between 16th /19th June 2016.
We have offerred our support specifically for the High Peak Half Marathon (along the Longendale Trail) on Saturday 18th June.
We will over the course of the next week be informing people how they can register and become involved as participants. However with thousands of people expected to take part over the weekend the organisers will also be looking for groups of volunteers who will be able to assist. If you would like to be part of this great weekend, whether as a participant or volunteer, then please get in touch with us.
