Corporate membership for companies

Corporate membership

Introduction to Corporate Membership

Corporate membership offers businesses an excellent opportunity to engage with the local community in a meaningful and charitable manner. Through this initiative, companies can demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility while supporting the work of the Poundbury Rotary Club.

Eligibility and Invitation

Any eligible company may participate in the corporate membership scheme. Companies are encouraged to invite their directors, partners, or staff members to consider joining the Poundbury Rotary Club as part of their corporate membership.

Membership Procedure

The process for enrolling as a corporate member is straightforward. Each company may nominate up to four members of staff to join the club. Of these, one individual will be designated as the full member, while the remaining three will be considered corporate members. The club may add links to allow website users to click direct to the company, and vice versa

Dorchester Poundbury Rotary Club – Corporate Membership Policy

Dorchester Poundbury Rotary Club, offers Corporate Membership for local businesses and other local organisations, including charitable organisations.

The corporation itself cannot be a club member — only people can be members of a Rotary club. Therefore, the club offers Corporate Membership to individuals based on their employment at a corporation or other entity.   One member of the corporation will be nominated at the Primary Corporate Member with other named employees referred to as alternate members.

1. Qualifications. All corporate members must meet the regular requirements for membership in the club and in Rotary.

2. Members. Subject to the approval of the club members, a corporation applying for Corporate Membership will designate one employee as the Primary Corporate Member.  The additional members will be named employees.

3. Attendance. The Primary Corporate Member or additional members are expected to attend in person to meet the club’s general attendance and participation requirements.

4. Dues.  Annual subscriptions for the Primary Corporate Member will be the full annual subscription (£132 at the proposed level for 2025/26) and the named additional members will pay 50% of the annual subscription.

5. RI registration. Only the Primary Corporate Member is recognised as a full, active member of Rotary International and are registered on the Rotary’s database.

6. Votes and quorum. The corporate members are entitled to one vote even though more than one person might be present. A named alternate member can vote as a proxy in the absence of the Primary Corporate Member.

7. Holding office. Only the Primary member can hold the office of President, Treasurer or Secretary. All Corporate Members are active, subscription paying members of the club and are eligible to hold other roles of office but will not have the right to vote.
