Santa's visits to Eccleshall with the Rotary Sleigh December 2024

Sadly we have decided that the Club will close at the end of 2024, after 14 years of active service to the community. This is due to advancing years and our failure to attract new members despite appeals.

Before we go we plan 2 visits by Santa & his sleigh at The Co-operative Food Store in Eccleshall by kind permission of the Store Manager.

There will be an opportunity for :
  • children and adults to meet and chat with Santa and take photos, and/or   
  •  for those who wish, to make donations to support those many people overseas living under very difficult circumstances 
Santa & Sleigh will also be at the Lychgate, near the parish church Sunday 1st December 2024.

    We are in urgent need of men or women who are willing to give up a small amount of their time to join our team. This will enable the Club to continue to support our local communities.

    The cost has been shared between Eccleshall Community Library, Eccleshall Parish Council and Eccleshall Rotary.

    The Deep Oscillation machine being demonstrated by Lymphoedema Nurse Specialist Mel Cotterill

    A Hivat Deep Oscillation machine for Katharine House Hospice is being funded by a donation from Eccleshall Rotary.

    A new toilet block to be constructed at the school to replace inadequate facilities, plus new water storage and facilities.

    The 4 Rotary Clubs of Eccleshall Mercia, Stafford, Stafford Castle & Stafford Knot are responsible for promoting this project

    View of the Lamjung area of Nepal

    Location is Dood Pokhari village, Lamjung District, West Nepal. The project is planned as a joint venture between the 3 Rotary Clubs in Stafford and Eccleshall Mercia in furtherance of Rotary's history in seeking to improve lives throughout the world

    Earhquake damage at Bojhpur

    In 2017 our Club together with Stafford, Stafford Knot and Stafford Castle Clubs held a fund raising lunch provided by the Ghurkas. The funds raised were to go towards the reconstruction of a school in the Bhojpur Municipality.

    The Hook a Duck appears at various places during the year, and is very popular with the young ones as every duck hooked wins a prize, all for just £1 !
