8th July 2015 our team of 6 played Wrekin Rotary away in our first match of the District Crown Green Bowls knock out competition held at Sir John Bayley Club, Wellington starting at 7.30pm.
Both sides fielded inexperienced players at this sport, nevertheless an enjoyable competetive match ensued, with the outcome uncertain until the final stage.
With 2 games played it was 1-1 and our hopes were with the ladies in the final game, who came through victorious. It was into the Sir John Bailey club then for refreshments, and enjoyable banter with the Wrekin members.
So now for the next encounter, with Audley Rotary Club in the next round.
CROQUET
Played on the Eccleshall Cricket ground Wednesday 22 July 2015 against Wombourne & Sedgeley Rotary Club, an enjoyable match ended with a win for Wombourne & Sedgeley.
A BBQ followed in the clubhouse.
