Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking and Marcus is sharing his journey to public speaking champion

MARCUS HEMSLEY

Marcus is going to share his story of being anxious about public speaking [glossophobia] to learning to deliver TED Talks, which is one of the most prestigious of speaking opportunities.

Marcus is an accomplished public speaker who has developed this skill since commencing at a Toastmasters International Speaking Club and going on to become "TED talk" trained.

"It's never about me as a speaker, or you as an event organiser, my presentation is always about the audience and the journey my speech takes them on. It's always about them, not us" - Marcus Hemsley

"People rarely remember what you say in a speech, they remember how you made them feel" - Maya Angelou

Marcus set up a digital marketing agency Fountain in 2009,and the most important thing for him was to put  theory into practice – to use the experience and knowledge of others to implement marketing that is based on evidence of what works, not some fluffy ideal.

Fountain has been able to expand and take market share due to to this no-fluff attitude.

Alongside his commitment to Fountain, he served as a local politician in Norwich from 2009 to 2013, winning his seat with 49.4% of the vote for the Green Party.

Since late 2009, Marcus joined Norwich Speakers Club as a new and cautious speaker where he developed his public speaking skills. He has served as both President and Vice President of the club and have won multiple local and regional awards for my speaking.
