The Rotary Club was pleased to host its annual Afternoon Tea for senior residents yesterday. The weather proved favourable, remaining dry and bright throughout the afternoon.
Approximately 80 guests attended from across the Isle of Axholme. Transport assistance was provided where required to ensure that all who wished to attend were able to do so.
Guests were entertained by Miss Marina Mae, whose programme of well-loved songs encouraged enthusiastic participation.
The Club records its sincere appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the event through donations of food, provision of transport, and the many hours given in preparation, service, and clearing away. Such occasions are only possible through the generosity and goodwill of volunteers.
We were honoured to welcome Councillor Tim Mitchell, who supported the event throughout the day, together with Lee Pitcher MP, Member of Parliament for Doncaster East and the Isle of Axholme.
The Club also extends its grateful thanks to the Trustees of the Thurlow Pavilion, Epworth, for the use of their premises.
The Rotary Club remains committed to serving the local community and fostering fellowship, and we look forward to continuing this valued tradition in the years ahead.
