JULY UPDATE:
Here is the advance party checking out the route.....
On Sunday 5th September a hardy group of travellers completed the Cattle drove in splendid weather, with great company and all for a good cause.
Whilst walking through the forest they were even surprised by a small group of well armed Jacobite raiders who held our esteemed fellow walkers, His Grace The Duke of Drumtochty and his friend The Most Hon. the Marquis of Monymusk to ransom. There were a few tense moments before the two aristocrats finally agreed in the interests of the safety of the walkers and cattle to hand over two purses of gold to enable the drove to pass through.
A huge thank you to eveyone involved!
