Deliver humanitarian aid in Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar

African Adventures Foundation

Haddenham and District Rotary have recently extended its international humanitarian aid interests by contributing to the Christmas Meal Appeal run by African Adventures Foundation, a charity based in Hampshire who partner with, and deliver aid to, schools in deprived areas in Africa

Our donation is sufficient to feed and bring great joy to, an entire school of 300 children

The Foundation helps to fund infrastructure improvements, essential equipment provision, food security, and water, sanitation and hygiene programmes in Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar

Many of the children who attend partner schools in Kenya live on or around the local dumpsite, in unimaginable conditions. School is a daily safe-haven for them, and a place where they can learn, see their friends, and receive a meal – for many, the only food they have each day

Food is a pre-requisite for learning, so every child who attends a partner school is provided with a cup of porridge each morning and a plate of cabbage and ugali (maize or corn flour cooked in milk) each lunchtime

The Christmas Meal Appeal plays a very important role in the Foundation’s annual calendar enabling thousands of children who attend partner schools in Ghana and Kenya to look forward to and enjoy a special meal and a party. For children who have so little, the Christmas Meal really does mean a lot
