New Raised Gardens for Haddenham Community Junior School

Haddenham Rotary provide invaluable learning opportunity for HCJS pupils

Making a Difference for Haddenham Community Junior School

Haddenham and District Rotary have provided over 15 tonnes of materials and installed
three raised garden beds and a sand pit at Haddenham Community Junior School (HCJS)

A variety of vegetables, herbs and flowers were also supplied which the children planted to learn about cultivating different plant types and to enjoy the results of their efforts. The sand pit provides an important play area, which is going down particularly well with the children

The funding for the project came from Haddenham and District Rotary charity fund
supported by a Rotary Grant

HCJS staff thanked Haddenham Rotary:

“for providing the invaluable learning opportunity for our pupils by creating an inviting outdoor place and contributing to fostering pride and ownership amongst the pupils, encouraging them to connect to nature and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the environment while supporting their emotional regulation at a time where it is of the utmost importance

Your support also vastly contributes to staff wellbeing. When we take a moment to consider all you have done to support the school community, staff, and pupils we are utterly overwhelmed by your kindness

In addition to the practical support, you give us, you make such a difference to some of our most vulnerable pupils. Education is a challenging profession but with your support, it’s very rewarding”
