2018-19 President's Charity: Thomley Hall

A recreational and informal educational facility for disabled children, their families, schools and friends

Thomley Hall Centre

Thomley was launched in July 2002 by parents of children with autism

These parents found that their children were excluded from other play-schemes due to unavailability of appropriate activities and facilities, as well as their child’s considered inappropriate behaviour. Parents also observed the need to cater for the siblings of disabled children as they are often disadvantaged by the fact that attention is focused on the disabled child

In response to their own experiences, they were eager to lessen the feeling of isolation in the challenges of bringing up disabled children

The founding Trustees consequently established Thomley as a recreational and informal educational facility for disabled children, their families, schools and friends

In the past three years, over 4,200 disabled people and their friends have come to Thomley from 36 counties.

"On behalf of everyone here at Thomley Hall, our warm and heartfelt thanks for all your hard work and generous donation

Our main focus at Thomley is to enhance the well-being of disabled people by delivering a wide range of life skills and recreational activities that help develop the skills they need to run their day-to-day lives. With your donation we will be able to facilitate 10 days of summer activities and 1,000 visits by disabled people, their families, carers and friends

Our website gives further information about us and the work we do. The need for our service is constantly increasing and we are on-track this year to exceed the 11,833 visits in 2018

Members of Haddenham Rotary are welcome to visit us at any time to see the positive impact your funding has had for our visitors"

Warren Koehler
CEO
