Haddenham and District Rotary raised funds and supplied the labour to create a Sensory Garden at Booker Park School in 2007
A sensory garden is a space with a principle focus on sensory experience, touch and feel, light and sound, smell, movement
We experience everything through our senses and a multi-sensory experience can be an important learning aid for special needs children, often linked with school curriculum and more informal learning
The garden was officially opened in 2008 by Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who was very complementary about the design and of the benefit to pupils
Haddenham Rotary periodically return to the garden to tidy up and refresh the planting

Each year Haddenham Rotary take children from Booker Park School senior year on a "Kids' Out" fun day. We originally went to Thorpe Park, but in recent years have gone to LegoLand at Windsor
