Ten club members and guests had a private tour of the museum on Wednesday evening, led by volunteers from the museum. It went very well and we learned a lot about Calderdale’s industrial heritage. We also gave a donation. The museum is now run as a charitable trust and needs to cover its running costs as well as finding money to fund ambitious improvements, one of which is to buy a new boiler so that the steam engines can operate again. The volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic and we are pleased to support the museum.
