Sanctuary 21 is a Salvation Army Church located in Saddler Street in Durham City. Staff there provide practical support to rough sleepers, homeless and other vulnerable people. The Sanctuary 21 cafe is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10.30am and 1.30pm to also provide a free or discounted hot meal, clothing and shower facilities.
On learning of the vital help they provide, Durham Elvet Rotary secured a Rotary Foundation District Grant which was matched to make a donation of £1000 to support the work of the dedicated staff at Sanctuary 21.
