Service in Durham Cathedral followed by the Parade through Durham City Market Place


This morning, Durham Elvet Rotary was represented at the Service for Remembrance Sunday held at Durham Cathedral. The Acting Dean, the Reverend Canon Michael Hampel, gave the sermon, with the Bishop of Durham, Paul Butler in attendance. President Tom Sharples laid a poppy wreath in the cathedral on behalf of the club before the parade of Service personnel from Palace Green to the Market Place where the Salute was taken by Mrs Sue Snowdon, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for County Durham.

Members of Durham Elvet Rotary Club braved the elements - sleet and rain - to watch a semi final cup match between Brandon United U18 and Benfield U18. Unfortunately, Brandon United lost 1 - 3.
